Advertiser disclosure

This site is an advertisement and is not a news publication. Here is exactly who pays us, how much that is worth, and what it does not buy.

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. You pay the same price you would have paid without the link. That commission is our only revenue.

What a commission does not buy

How the wall works in practice

  1. Testers score candidates without access to commercial data.
  2. The editor locks the ranking and the copy.
  3. Only then does one person map affiliate links onto the locked list.
  4. If no affiliate programme exists for a product, it stays on the list with a plain link and earns us nothing. Several entries every year are exactly that.

Rates, in plain numbers

Commissions in this category typically run between 3% and 8% of the sale price, occasionally higher on small accessories and lower on electronics. We deliberately do not tell testers or editors which categories pay more, because knowing would be enough to bias a borderline call.

Regulatory note

US readers: this disclosure is intended to satisfy the FTC’s Endorsement Guides, which require a clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections. We repeat a short form of it at the top of every page that carries affiliate links, rather than burying it here alone.

If you would rather we earned nothing from your purchase, turn off affiliate attribution on the cookie preferences page, or search for the product directly. The list does not change either way.
